How To Install Preview Version Of Windows 10 In VirtualBox

While everybody was looking for the Windows 9 operating system to stun the industry, the Redmond based software giant Microsoft astonished everybody by releasing the preview version of the Windows 10 operating system (the Windows 9 label has been dropped). The company has created a new Windows Insider Program for users to test the new operating system. In any case, the company makes it clear in the agreement form that they are not responsible for any issues caused to the system by installing the operating system in your system.

You can install the Windows 10 preview in your computer if you have the following requirements.

The requirements are a DVD or USB drive that can hold a 4GB ISO file, Windows 10 ISO file and VirtualBox installed on your system for installing the preview version. When you select with the Windows Insider program, the company will request that you download the ISO file of the operating system. The operating system as of now supports around four languages, English, English UK, Chinese Simplified, and Portuguese Brazil. Since the file size may range from three to four GB, verify that you do have a working internet plan.

Steps Involved

  • Launch the VirtualBox program installed with your system and afterward click on the New button found in the main window for creating a new virtual machine.
  • Now you have to name the operating system with something like Windows 10 Technical Preview or something similar and pick Windows 8.1 from the list that shows up on the screen, as the software does not have the Windows 10 preview starting now.
  • Follow the simple prompts shown by the VirtualBox wizard for setting up the virtual machine. If you are a beginner VirtualBox user, then you may start the virtual machine with the default settings.
  • Once all the setup is finished, you will be able to see the new machine in the left-hand sidebar. Click on it and afterward on the option labeled as Settings found under the VirtualBox window.

  • After selecting the file, click on the OK button and press on the Start button for launching the virtual machine and to install the preview version of Windows 10 operating system on your system.

If you take after the simple instructions given above, you will be able to test the Windows 10 preview version with a VirtualBox.
